Welcome to Finca Carmen

Finca Carmen is a delightful restored original property about 4km drive (about 2.5 km walking) from the village of Competa in Axarquia. It contains a double bedroom with extra bunk style beds in another room. The property is completely self contained and detached with just a short private concrete driveway from the main road.

An ideal location to just relax by the pool/gardens, watching eagles, kites etc flying overhead, or spotting the shy wild ibex on the slopes at the back of our house, if you are lucky. You can explore the whitewashed Andalusian villages (little changed for centuries) of the countryside, or visit Nerja and its super beaches (Burriana a favourite) or walking in the National Park.

Having travelled extensively worldwide, we aim to provide at the Finca many of those many small extras that make all the difference and take the stress and burden out of short treasured holiday time. The kitchen is fully equipped. A full fresh supply of local olive oil, condiments, mayo, etc will be on hand. When in season, herbs, fruit and vegetables from our garden will be available. Toiletries are complimentary (saves hassle when travelling by air). All toilet paper, kitchen paper, washing-up liquid, cleaning towels, BBQ charcoal, beach towels, bath towels, linen are complimentary (within reason). All water comes from our own well on our land, and we provide a water filter for drinking purposes. We have a permanent supply of hot water.

We aim to recycle most of our household waste and hope that our guests will do likewise, with our assistance. We will dispose of all waste from you (if you wish) to the local Basura and recycling depot.
